Pamela and Randy Copus, the duo known as 2002, have charted 7 albums on the Billboard Charts in the past 9 years. This Moment Now, won the COVR award for Best New Age Album in 2003. 2002 made the list of top new age artists in the Billboard Magazine “Year in Review” issue, December 2003. Also on the list; Yanni, Mannheim Steamroller, Jim Brickman, George Winston & Enya. 2002 released their first CD, Wings in 1992, launching their own record label they called “Dreamtime Records.” The CD itself was composed and recorded in a modest home studio while the label operated out of a spare bedroom in their house. Pamela and Randy promoted the album by playing it at arts and craft festivals and in local stores wherever they could gain an audience. Wings was then picked up for distribution by Music Design and New Leaf. By 1995, Wings had done quite well and CD #2, Savitri was released. Chrysalis was released in 1997 and charted on Billboard Magazine‘s New Age Chart for 7 weeks. In the following years, Pamela and Randy released 6 more albums: Land of Forever, River of Stars, Across an Ocean of Dreams, The Sacred Well, This Moment Now and The Emerald Way. These albums, along with Chrysalis, charted on Billboard for a total of 264 weeks. Pamela and Randy record all their music at their state-of-the-art studio. Randy Copus plays piano, electric cello, guitar, bass and keyboards. Pamela Copus plays flutes, harp, keyboards and a wind instrument called a WX5. Both musicians also provide all of the vocals on their albums, recording their voices many, many times and layering them to create a "virtual choir" with a celestial, angelic quality. The vocals also have many dimensions, as words and chants in Sanskrit, Spanish, Latin and Japanese, representing sacred traditions throughout the world, can be heard on their albums.
With their new release Deep Still Blue, 2002 is currently moving into exciting new avenues including DVD. Their newly constructed studio has been equipped with the latest technology to explore both video and music for DVD, the web and the world.
